Flipping Bugs - Bugs Month

2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity and to celebrate, the Pod has launched a brand new campaign – Bug Month.  It can be found on the biodiversity area of the website.

What is Bug Month?
  • Bug Month is a celebration of our new biodiversity topic – we’re encouraging all schools to take part in the Bug Hotel activity at the same time – between 19 April and 21 May.
  • Complete an audit of your schools grounds before you build your bug hotel – just like you would if you were building a real, hotel. Think about the types of guests you want to attract.
  • Build your bug hotel using the ‘Build a Bug Hotel’ activity on the Pod.
  • Assess the area, track the bugs you have found and hold a campaign in your schools to raise awareness of your outdoor bug hotel
the Pod has worked closely with partners the Eden Project, Eco-Schools, Natural England and the London 2012 education programme Get Set, to create lots of information, free resources to help you join in and raise the profile of your Bug Hotel.  Find out more by CLICKING HERE.
